Old Delhi Music is a small business run by a few mindful folks intent on making the worlds very best Indian folk instruments available to customers in North America and beyond. We do our honest best to curate a selection of instruments we feel good about, but if you don't love anything you buy from us, we don't want you to feel stuck with it. In the case you wish to exchange or return something you have purchased from us, the following policies apply (READ OUR RETURN FULL POLICY HERE)

RETURNS

Our policy lasts 14 days from the day you receive your instrument. Beyond this, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

REFUNDS (if applicable)

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

Only standard items may be refunded. We cannot refund purchases of products that have been highly customized per customer request. This policy excludes standard tuning or tuning to A440, but includes tuning to A432 and other less common calibrations.

EXCHANGES (if applicable)

We will replace all standard items or parts if they are defective or otherwise damaged. B-stock and used instruments are not replaceable but still eligible for exchange. If you need to exchange any item, please send us an email at olddelhimusic@gmail.com .

While much of India is rapidly advancing, the Indian instrument manufacturing process remains very old school. From touch ups to tuning, much of what we do at Old Delhi Music is add a layer of quality control to an otherwise non-standardized production process.

I was so impressed with purchasing two instruments from ODM that I decided to also purchase a third one - this amazing Naeem Teak Male Concert Tanpura! It arrived without a scratch on the exact day I wanted so I could meet the delivery staff.
The Instrument: Absolutely lives up to its brand and is impeccably crafted and looks elegant. The most important attribute of course is the sound, which is rich, resonant and deep.
The sellers: Calling ODM the "seller" truly sells them way short. Nick and team make it their job to be responsive, customer-friendly and very discriminating in which instruments and brands they source and bring to the US. Nick took time on the phone again to answer many questions and share his deep expertise in Indian musical instruments. The MOST important step in buying a physical instrument is the ability to see, feel and hear it and Michael as usual went way above and beyond. He took time to tune the specific instrument I was interested in and then also tuned a few others options they had in stock - then he took a video and emailed it to me promptly. Seeing and hearing the video allowed me to make the BEST decision for me! I am truly delighted with the purchase!

Impeccable Service

After exhaustive research on the difference between Tun and Teak wood Tanpuras, I still had questions. After all, how to decide which Tanpura is the very best for you without actually physically seeing it and hearing the unique notes it plays?
To get expert help and counsel, I turned to the trusted team at ODM. As usual, Nick already had informative videos on YouTube. Nick was happy to take my calls and spend time providing his expertise that has been honed through personally working with craftspeople in India and handpicking instruments & designs to make available in the US.
But they did more!
Based upon my questions, the ODM team chose 3 particular instruments that would fit my needs, tuned them perfectly to my vocal scale, took videos and sent them to me so I could see and hear how the notes sounded on these specific Tanpuras! I was delighted as usual and actually seeing the specific Tanpuras and how they sounded helped me make the best decision for me. THANK YOU Michael for taking the time to do this!
