The MKS No. 2 is a professional grade, "half-decoration" Karaj Pancham / Ravi Shankar style sitar. Monoj Kumar Sardar & Bros. (a.k.a. "MKS" or "Sardar") is a well established name in Kolkata. This is one of their better sitars. The tone is bright and clear. The action and meend are superb.

They are traditional "Ravi Shankar style" in orientation with 7 main strings and 13 taraf/sympathetic strings. The fit and finish of this sitar is outstanding. The carving and penwork are ornate.
