If you're curious, PBS dug into a little bit of the back story in 2014:

And if you're curious about what we've been up to more recently, our friend Jeff Starr released this interview in 2021:

While much of India is rapidly advancing, the Indian instrument manufacturing process remains comparatively primitive. From touch ups to tuning, much of what we do at Old Delhi Music is add a layer of quality control to an otherwise non-standardized production process.

We wrote THIS ARTICLE to ensure customers understand and might appreciate this old-fashioned production style, the unique products we carry, and how we're working to ensure genuine quality, despite the odds. It's a quick read, and definitely worthwhile for anyone considering the purchase of a traditional Indian instrument.

          Best Mridanga

The Drum arrived when Nic said it would intact and very carefully packaged. I have had quite a few Mridanga's over the years this one is perhaps the nicest sounding drum, heavy and well constructed extra thick clay cylinder is obvious. Better than the drum sound is the vibe you get from doing business with Old Delhi and Nic.

          Very good quality

This is a really good drum. It is sturdy with great sound and not like the cheap ones that break and don't sound good. This is very good quality. I will send my friends to Old Delhi Music.
