While much of India is rapidly advancing, the Indian instrument manufacturing process remains very old school. From touch ups to tuning, much of what we do at Old Delhi Music is add a layer of quality control to an otherwise non-standardized production process.

We wrote THIS ARTICLE to ensure customers understand and might appreciate this vintage production style, the unique products we carry, and how we're working to ensure genuine quality, despite the odds. It's a quick read, and definitely worthwhile for anyone considering the purchase of a traditional Indian instrument.

          Astounding!

Oh I have waited and waited for this. I finally sent out for the Panipat Standard Mini... I received it today! I started playing and just about melted. It has the most beautiful vibrations. After playing I felt so calm and re-centered. I just about cried I felt so thankful to play it! It’s worth every cent. The beauty of music I say! - one thing to note though.. there were a few dings in it. And the finish wasn’t quite cleaned up in some areas - but that didn’t effect the heartwarming sound. Just looks a little used? I still love it though. Pure joy!

HI Ella - Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad you love the sound. We have a lot of control in that regard. As for aesthetics, new Indian instruments at all price points are - to put it nicely - uniformly disappointing. Concerned customers should to read the Disclaimer statement included on each of our instrument product pages and linked article. As a store working in this niche market, we take all reasonable steps to ensure we have the best available products at all price points, which includes a lot of accounting for aesthetics, but try as we might, India is India. Thanks again for noting this and allowing us another chance to set appropriate expectations. -ODM

          Cosmic Vibrations From the Heart

Let first start by asking what is Panipat? Yes it is a town in India.. about 100 km north of Delhi.. We all know out Delhi style' harmoniums.. This must be the Panipat style'?
I first learn to play on a Bhava Classic' and have been practicing with one ever scene. When it came time to get my own I was looking at the Bhava Mini or Travel'
But then here we are. I came across this Panipat Standard Mini".. Best of both worlds? Mini and non-collapsable Travel" Style. Every thing look like just what I wanted..
Taking a leap into the unknown, I decided to give the Panipat a go!
And there was no looking back!
This is a gorgeous little box. Completely unbranded. Rich and deep wood colors. Beautiful keys. Great detailing. Sturdy Construction and the feel of it is just right..
As for the sound.. upon playing for the first time.
My heart was flooded with emotion. Pure light energy form the cosmos are being drawn in and released through her bellows. This Panipat harmonium Filled and Exceeded
and expectations. Those guys in Panipat must have learned a thing or two from the Delhi makers when crafting these universal gifts.
Then when Old Delhi Music' gets their hands on it. They turn something that is already an amazing thing, Into pure bliss.
So much heart and intention is added to these instruments. Thanks Guys!!!

Bottom line: Move over Bhava' PANIPAT is here now!
If your are brave enough to leave the Bhava' linage you wont be let down one bit by the Panipat!
